I always have a difficult time trying to stay motivated about certain things: going to work, going to school, cleaning my house, etc. Working out is also something I have a hard time doing. My husband and I have a couple of friends getting married in December, and I plan on wearing something chic and leggy. This is currently my biggest motivation to shape up. I bought a new scale that tells me my weight, body fat, muscle mass, bone mass, and body water level. I have cut out sodas, snacking, and fried foods. I have also started a stricter workout routine. But recently, I read something about health insurance companies offering better benefits for those people who are in better shape "weight wise." I think this might not be such a bad idea. It would make people wake up and think twice about fast food, soft drinks, and lounging-around. It is scientifically proven that people classified as “overweight” have a much higher risk of developing serious health problems, which means more medical visits, so unhealthy people are seen as bigger risks when it comes to health coverage. If this is what it takes to get some people motivated, then bring it on.

I know what you mean about finding the motivation to do things that we should be doing. I've recently started working out again, and at first it took a while, but now I work out almost everyday (4 miles walking by the river on Clyde Fant and about an hour of playing tennis with sisters). It's easier and more fun when you have someone to work out with. By the way, where did you find a scale that tells you all that stuff?
